Exploring High Definition Broadcast and Widescreen Format
High Definition Broadcast in English
Widescreen format
The widescreen format is a type of television or video display screen with an aspect ratio of wider than traditional 4:3. This allows more information to be displayed on the screen without having to stretch the image. In addition, a widescreen display can provide better clarity and more detail than standard televisions.
The term widescreen is often used to refer to a particular aspect ratio of the image, but it can also mean any film or video that has been presented in this form. For example, a movie may be filmed in Academy or widescreen format and then released on DVD or Blu-ray with either an open matte or pan and scan presentation.
In general, widescreen films are filmed in the Academy ratio and then adapted for home release by using a matte or pan-and-scan process to remove the black bars at the top and bottom of the image. This allows the film to fit a standard TV or DVD screen without losing any important image data. However, this is not always the case, and some directors choose to shoot movies in a wider than Academy ratio for artistic reasons. 해외 축구 고화질 중계
Dolby digital sound
Dolby Digital is a digital audio compression technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. It was first used to record 35 mm film prints with an analog-to-digital converter, and it is now widely used in cinemas, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. It is also used in some digital video streaming services and for audio on game consoles. Dolby Digital is also used for digital broadcast HDTV video signals.
Dolby digital surround technology, commonly known as 5.1 surround sound, consists of five full-bandwidth channels for the left front, right front, center, and rear speakers plus one low-frequency effects channel (LFE) handled by a subwoofer. It is a successor to Dolby’s earlier Pro Logic format, which employed matrix technology to add a center and single rear surround channel to stereo soundtracks.
Dolby Digital and THX collaborated to create an enhanced version of the technology called Dolby Digital EX. It utilizes the same matrix encoding process but adds a sixth surround channel. 고화질중계
High definition television
Its a digital signal that delivers stunningly clear, crisp images. You can see individual strands of hair being tousled by James Bond, beads of sweat on an ice skater’s brow or the smile of a model as she poses for a magazine cover. HD image sources include terrestrial and satellite broadcasts, cable television, high definition DVD (BD), internet downloads and game consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The term “high definition” also applies to video displays and recorders that use MPEG-2 image compression, which allows a lot of detail to be packed into a very small space. Most DVDs are encoded in this format, and most TV sets that display them in widescreen (16:9) format support HD programming. Except for the trifecta of NBCUniversal trash talk shows (Jerry Springer, Steve Wilkos and Maury) and low-tier court shows, most programs in syndication now run in HD. The only holdout is the venerable Saturday morning infomercial block.
